Barbara Diederiks Shiatsu Therapist

Barbara Diederiks works in our practice on Friday afternoon.

“My name is Barbara Diederiks and I have been working with great passion as a Shiatsu therapist since 2002. Gradually I started teaching Do-In (meridian yoga) and Chi Kung (oriental gymnastics/internal martial arts). I continue to educate myself. At the moment I am studying Chi Nei Tsang, this is an ancient oriental technique, older than shiatsu. It literally means “letting energy flow from the organs” and touches the human being very deeply. It is a logical addition to shiatsu, which literally means “pressure with fingers”.
These disciplines are directly interrelated and feed each other.
Shiatsu therapy works on any imbalance to provide more balance, i.e. flow, so that the body uses its self-healing capacity. It is experienced as very supportive in the cancer disease process, both physically and mentally.

I am affiliated with the Cancer Care Center.

Doing Do-In and Chi Kung give you relaxation, insight into yourself, you treat yourself and make you strong again.
They rebuild your energy and help you find peace in the situation you find yourself in.
Together we arrive at a coordinated treatment.
On Friday afternoon I work at Praktijk Brouwersgracht 641.”

The text below by Lao Zi, a Chinese philosopher, still inspires me every day:
‘When your body is not aligned
The Inner power will not come
When you are not tranquil within
Your mind will not be well organized
Align your body, assist the inner power
Then it will gradually come on its own.’
Lao Zi / 6th century BC
