Introducing Karla Plugge

We are delighted to welcome Karla Plugge as of 29 September 2026 to our practice in Amsterdam.
Karla is a former Olympian with more than 30 years of experience as a physiotherapist and manual therapist.

She specialise in manual therapy and dry needling and has extensive expertise in treating conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, hip and the entire spine. As a highly experienced all-round physiotherapist, Karla also offers second opinions for complex or persistent conditions. In addition, she supports patients experiencing physical symptoms associated with burnout.

Karla works as a physiotherapist for the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB), supporting Dutch national teams. She therefore has extensive experience treating elite and recreational athletes, as well as patients from all walks of life. Her approach is characterised by a thorough assessment, personalised care and a treatment plan carefully tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

Alongside her new position in Amsterdam, Karla will continue working as a physiotherapist and manual therapist in Zaandam. She was keen to return to Amsterdam’s vibrant atmosphere and diverse community. Karla looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience within our practice, supporting her highly skilled colleagues and welcoming her new patients.
